Should I buy round or Square lights for the ST? Round is more traditional, but there is a lot of bezel. Square is more modern/aggressive and functional. I'm buying Monday

agree... square

on a related note - saw a jeep with four of those (or similar) on a light bar on top driving around and holy moly were  they bright. Totally not legal but wowzers - you could not look directly at them.

I think square looks better with all the angles and aggressiveness in the ST’s face. Though in a vacuum I’d pick round.

I vote square, I think they look a little cleaner and more modern than the old halogen round standards..

Kinja'd!!!

Really though that are both going to be awesome.

I can't wait. One thing though. You mentioned a relay, what would be the benefit of that?

A simple low amp circuit goes from the batt, through the fuse, then the switch, then the lights, then to ground. This is fine for under 3 or 4   amps depending on fuse and switch limits.

A relay is like an electric switch- it needs a small trigger current and a ground to close. Once it’s closed the bigger current c an pass from the batt to the lights and then to ground. If you use the switch on the dash as the trigger for a relay you keep the higher amps out of the cab and can use a tiny switch.

Baja packages their squadrons without a relay, and probably the XL as well. 40w/12v = 3.3amp per light. With two wired as a pair you are passing almost 7amps through the switch. That’s a lot for a little switch to take.

You can buy 12v 20amp relays at CT for $10 - or any electric shop. They are cheap and the proper way to do it. A lot of people get hung up on adding relays but it isn’t all that hard once you get how they work. We’ll help.

Depends on if you want to go classic or modern. My peference is for round because it looks less... bro.

Also those are really good looking lights and HOLY CRAP THEY’RE EXPENSIVE.
